Die Börse - published by SIX Swiss Exchange
The book "Die Börse" examines the meaning of the stock market in society, how it works, and its organization, rules and purpose. It also features a "stock market for everyone" poster and the popular quartets card game as a supplement.
Many books are available that explain and analyze the mechanisms and models of the world of stock exchanges. And readers can also choose from a wide selection of books containing more or less effective tips for getting rich quickly in the stock market. Conversely, hardly any literature focuses on the stock market itself. The book “Die Börse” (Verlag Neue Zürcher Zeitung, 2014) closes this gap by examining the meaning of the stock market in society, how it works, and its organization, rules and purpose.
Marketplace for the free economy
Even though the book is being released exactly twenty years after the merging of the Basel, Geneva and Zurich stock exchanges, the interesting history of the Swiss Exchange is not the main focus of the book. The primary purpose of "Die Börse" is to make the free economy marketplace more accessible to readers with or without previous knowledge, in an informative and entertaining way.
The book includes contributions by decision-makers and experts from politics, economics, sciences and the media, such as Josef Ackermann, Karin Keller-Sutter, Urs Rohner, Jacques de Saussure, Alexandre Zeller, Heinz Zimmermann, Urs Rüegsegger and Christian Katz. Each author sheds light on the stock market from a very different perspective. It also features some great visual glossaries, special info boxes, a “stock market for everyone” poster and the popular quartets card game as a supplement.
The book is available in stores and as an ebook online.
