1st place: The "WAITLESS" team won the friendly contest with an app which provides an efficient and fun way to order and pay in seconds in restaurants and coffee shops.
2nd place: The second best was team "AK-5" which presented a solution for compliance monitoring in real time.
3rd place: Third was the team "Nona" with a virtual reality application for the retail trade.

Envision how Augmented Reality on mobile devices can extend the reach of financial institutions by providing access to their services in everyday situations.
Exploit the potential benefits of digitalizing paper, electronic and other kinds of bills, to allow for the automated processing of payments in large quantities.
F10 Prize: A secured slot in the Top 20 final speed dating round and a chance to be one of 10 F10 hosted Startups.
One competing team will be selected by the F10 and automatically entered into the final speed dating round of the application process, skipping the whole pre-application process.
Finance 2.0 Prize: A Golden Ticket for the 1st place team to present their prototype on stage at the 2017 Finance 2.0 conference – Switzerland’s biggest Fintech Conference and the pioneer of the Swiss Fintech scene.
Top 10 teams will have a chance to showcase their prototypes in the Showcase area during the conference.
Note: For those of you from out of town, #SIXHackathon has pre-reserved a few rooms to accomodate one team member from each of the winning teams that is willing and able to stay until the Finance 2.0 conference. More details at the event.
The international Jury will evaluate all prototypes by meeting each team; nominate the finalists who can pitch on stage and eventually choose the winners.

At a Hackathon, a variety of people come together to work on a project under extreme time pressure over a short period of time. In our case… a weekend. Topics are usually specified by the organizers. That being said, there is plenty of room for creativity and your own ideas. The aim is to work in a small team to produce a presentable prototype or concept within the predefined time. Our motto: Done is better than perfect!
The #SIXHackathon2017 will be held from Friday, 10 March 2017, 5 p.m., to Sunday, 12 March, 5 p.m.
You have until midnight (CH time) 9 February 2017.
We will let participants know by 10 February 2017, at the latest.

As space is limited and we want to make sure to have a good, diverse group of participants who want nothing else than to attend, participate and share knowledge, we take the time to review all registrations carefully. To increase the chances, we encourage you to provide us with as much information about your background and your experiences as possible. We will let you know as soon as humanly possible who is in. We recommend that you not book your transportation until you get final confirmation.
Nope. There are no costs to participate and we will even feed you! We promise you will not go hungry nor thirsty while we are together. Phew… right?
What a question… OF COURSE! But you will have to be patient and wait until the event where they will be announced.
Yes. You will need to give us the receipt during the event and we will reimburse all travel costs up to one of the following caps – if you go over, we’ll still reimburse the amount of the cap, but no more. To be eligible, you must submit a project AND your travel expenses.

Yup! It’s part of the experience :) The location will be accessible and in operation throughout the night. This way you can work and nap as you wish.
NEW: Please note that we have reserved rooms for one member from each team that invited to present at the Finance 2.0 Event following the Hackathon. More details will be provided at the event itself. This is for out of town guests only. If you are local... you should already have a room ;)
Please do. You can always take inspiration from one of the workshops on offer - we will also offer topics there. In our experience, not having an Idea was never a problem!
No. If you have your own idea, then you can get started right away. But they can be quite interesting.
Well…No. In order to keep the competition fair, the idea must be new and cannot have been used elsewhere before.
As IT infrastructure and brain food will be provided, the most important things to bring are your computer and charger and the personal equipment you will need for the three days of Hackathon. We will also share a packing list with you prior… just to be helpful.
Teams will be put together at the beginning of the event.
We try to be somewhat eco-friendly and recommend that you arrive by public transport. Not to mention that Switzerland has one the best infrastructures in the world… and it’s super clean! An experience in itself. That being said, for those that really want to drive, there are a limited number of parking spaces in the underground car park at the Schiffbau on Giessereistrasse (access via Turbinenplatz). It is also possible to park at the Pfingstweidstrasse 1 car park or in the public spaces under Hardbrücke.

Information will also be posted on our facebook page and we will of course email participants all vital information prior to the event.
