A future with SIX
Eleven SIX apprentices have successfully completed their apprenticeship and are now embarking on their professional careers at SIX.
On 11 July 2012, eleven SIX apprentices celebrated the successful completion of their apprenticeship in the commercial and IT areas at Novotel in Zurich. Dr. Christian Katz, CEO Swiss Exchange, extended the Group Executive Board's congratulations. In his speech, he emphasized, amongst other things, how coveted well-qualified, young people with their fresh ideas are and encouraged them to seize their opportunities, because many options are now open to them.
SIX considers the training of apprentices to be part of its social responsibility, for which reason it enjoys a high level of significance. The apprentices receive a thorough training on the job and thereby gain insight into the broad range of activity of a financial infrastructure service provider. At the same time, they develop specific know-how in jobs that are hardly run of the mill. For SIX as a highly specialized company, in particular, apprentices therefore mean valuable junior staff.
But supporting apprentices goes beyond the mere technical at SIX: The company endeavors to create ideal preconditions for apprentices to succeed in their training. As such, SIX gives apprentices the prospect of a one-year employment contract as a minimum after completing their apprenticeship. In doing so, SIX wishes to relieve apprentices of the pressure and allow them to fully focus on the apprenticeship exams.
In summer 2012, 13 apprentices and one intern will start their training at SIX. This means that SIX will employ a total of 44 apprentices and one intern.
SIX congratulates the following apprentices on their graduation:
