Steampunks are the genuine heirs of Jules Verne. Applying the aesthetics of the Victorian era, they reinterpret modern innovations as futuristic visions from the past – digital cameras and computers meet airships and steam engines. Steampunk has also made its way into popular culture through movies like "Wild Wild West", starring Will Smith, and "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen", featuring Sean Connery. While some steampunks content themselves with dressing up in anachronistic costumes, artists like Dan Aetherman create entire retrofuturistic worlds.
