Data Engineer

In this role you will have the opportunity to become part of our highly motivated Data Science team, which is embedded in the Banking Services business unit, part of the SIX Group company, focusing on building and driving new state of the art technologies in various fields. We are currently seeking to expand our footprint in Warsaw and this is an unique opportunity to join us in this exciting journey. In this position, you will ensure both seamless access to the required data, as well as developing data analysis/analytics tools to support decision taking of the Banking Services business unit.

As the Data Engineer you will engage with other data engineers/scientists and business representatives as a subject matter expert on identifying opportunities, in order to generate added value out of the data and implement end to end solutions.

What You Will Do
  • Use the latest innovations in analytics and visualization to support improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies
  • Be responsible for developing, maintaining tools to extract knowledge from strategic internal and external data sets
  • Orchestrate, monitor and maintain fully automated data pipelines for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of sources
  • Implement data models, join data sources and ensure data quality. Use technology standards (e.g. Python and Spark) to transform data or to marry different systems
  • Work closely together with an open-minded data science team with a strong team spirit and other business representatives, who are mainly located in Zurich.
What You Bring
  • A Master or Bachelor degree in a quantitative field (Statistics, Mathematics, Economics), Information Technology or an equivalent education
  • Familiarity with assembling and analyzing datasets from disparate sources; Profound expertise with report development and visualization in Tableau or Power BI
  • Demonstrated capabilities in programing with Python and distributed data processing at scale such as Spark, DataBricks, etc.; Practical expertise in SQL and other database solutions, database design and reporting
  • Experience in designing and building of fully automated data pipelines; Knowhow and experience in cloud implementations, with focus among others on high availability, performance and security requirements are a plus
  • Business fluency in English or German is required
