eBill Direct Debit is a new eBill offering developed independently by SIX, which was launched on the market on its own initiative in summer 2025. This function is only available to users who are registered with an eBill financial institution that has implemented this function. If you do not belong to such a financial institution, you will not have access to this function.
Benefits of eBill Direct Debit
eBill Direct Debit is the modern, digital direct debit procedure, from which financial institutions, invoicing parties, and private individuals all benefit. In this way, receivables can be submitted, processed, and debited in eBill. It is based on a digital direct debit authorization that has previously been set up in eBill.
- Invoice recipients benefit from full payment automation.
- With eBill Direct Debit, today’s paper-based setup processes are replaced by efficient and convenient digital processes, thus simplifying the life of the invoice recipient.
- The digital eBill portal provides the invoice recipient with significantly greater transparency regarding established direct debit authorizations and processed direct debits.
- Increased security for the invoice recipient thanks to integrated reversal options with guaranteed repayment.
Proven Infrastructure
eBill Direct Debit is based on the proven eBill processes and payment transaction standards, which makes it much easier to implement.
Efficient Payment Process
Transactions can be processed directly from account to account and supplemented to include additional information such as invoice documents.
Harmonization
Invoice payment channels are increasingly converging on the eBill platform. This leads to further economies of scale.
Manageable Investments
eBill Direct Debit builds on the existing and proven eBill infrastructure. Many functionalities, interfaces and mechanisms are reused. This enables eBill Direct Debit to be implemented with a manageable investment.
What You Can Do with eBill Direct Debit
- Reduction of the currently paper-based and thus time-intensive onboarding processes.

- eBill Direct Debit offers the invoicing party a cost-effective option for recurring payments compared to other possible payment processes.
- eBill Direct Debit has the potential to easily integrate further future use cases (e.g. related to Request-to-Pay).
