SIX SIS Ltd offers a wide range of added-value services in the area of Swiss market corporate actions. SIX SIS Ltd carries out all administrative tasks for securities under its custody that arise during the lifetime of these securities. These activities are referred to as corporate actions (C/A).
In SECOM – SIX SIS Ltd's proprietary system – there are three different types of corporate actions:
- Mandatory corporate actions
- Voluntary corporate actions (special actions)
- Mandatory corporate actions with options
Comprehensive Information Management
Companies inform SIX SIS Ltd (as the CSD for Switzerland) electronically of any upcoming corporate actions, which are then processed automatically and notification is sent to clients by means of SWIFT messages MT564/568.
These messages contain important additional information, for example, on restrictions or the last trade date. Prospectuses can be downloaded quickly and easily from our web portal.
Value Date Booking
SIX SIS Ltd books entitlements from corporate actions on the value date and confirms these electronically (message MT566).
Switzerland is a record date market, which results in a significant reduction in compensation costs. SIX SIS Ltd makes automatic compensation payments within 20 days of the pay date.
SIX SIS Ltd provides its clients with four different service levels, with deadlines falling between 0 and 5 business hours before the market deadline. We also offer a reminder service, which significantly reduces the risk of a missed instruction.
SIX SIS Ltd processes its SWIFT MT565 instructions automatically and confirms that they have been issued correctly by means of an MT567 message. Clients can easily issue instructions with the minimum of risk using our CAES web tool.
SIX SIS Ltd offers its clients the option of placing trading orders. These are then forwarded and processed immediately. Confirmation that they have been executed is made via an electronic message (MT566).

We will then receive the proxy voting instructions for bearer shares and forward them to the corresponding company. Our CAES web portal can also be used to issue proxy voting instructions.
