Driving global financial markets through trusted data standards

Standards are invisible — until they fail.
SIX ensures they work, globally and at scale.

  • Financial markets only function when everyone speaks the same language.
  • Global data standards make this possible — enabling interoperability, regulatory certainty and operational efficiency across borders and asset classes.
  • SIX plays a central global role in shaping, governing and operating these standards.

Why standards matter to you

Well‑governed reference data standards are the foundation of trading, clearing, settlement and regulatory reporting.

Without them, global markets could not operate efficiently or safely.

Through its standards roles, SIX helps market participants:

  • reduce operational complexity,
  • ensure regulatory compliance,
  • and confidently scale across markets and products.
