Markus Habbel has been nominated as CFO and member of the Executive Board of SIX effective 1 June 2026. He joins from Bain & Company, where he served as Senior Partner and global leader for Wealth & Asset Management and Financial Services Market Infrastructure, driving significant growth while advising leading European FMI’s and wealth managers on strategy, technology transformation, and M&A. Previously, he held senior finance leadership roles at UBS, including CFO Global Wealth Management and CFO UBS Group EMEA, and began his career with positions at McKinsey & Company, where he was Partner and a leader of the Corporate Finance Practice, and Morgan Stanley.

He holds a PhD in Economics from Martin Luther University and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Heidelberg.

Markus Habbel will succeed Daniel Schmucki, who will leave SIX at the end of July (see media release dated 19 January 2026).
