SIX Sees Strong Turnover Growth Across All Asset Classes in March

Trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange grew across all segments in March. Activity on the Swiss and Spanish markets was up 24.1% over March 2025, reaching CHF 195.4 bn. Combined transactions were up 25.5% year-on-year (YOY), surpassing 10mn in a single month for the first time since March 2022.

ETF turnover on BME Exchange more than doubled, with the segment up 109.0% YOY. The Swiss market’s ETF segment also saw strong growth with turnover increasing 33.4% in comparison to March 2025.

On SIX Swiss Exchange, structured products saw highest YOY turnover growth with a rise of 66.8%. In addition, structured products listings on the Swiss market rose 143.2% over last year, reaching 37,812 in March alone. 

Equities also reported gains across both SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange, increasing 8.3% and 66.3% respectively over March 2025.

After a milestone month for the main Swiss and Spanish indices in February, the Swiss blue chip SMI ® concluded March at 12,776.8 points, with the IBEX 35 ® reaching 17,050 points.
