In June 2023, trading turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange reached CHF 89.7 bn, 2.5% more than in the previous month. With 3,578,251 there were 1.6% less trades recorded than in May. Since the start of 2023, turnover fell to CHF 555.5 bn, over 20% less compared to last year. With 24.5 million, the number of trades fell by 28.6%.
The most traded share in June was Novartis, with 250,000 transactions, while the highest turnover was recorded in Nestlé, with CHF 7.3 bn. With regards to performance so far this year, Richemont with 26.5%, Holcim with 25.7% and ABB with 25.4% shared the top three steps on the podium.
The Swiss blue-chip index SMI rose by 0.6%, finishing the month at 11,280.3 points; year-to-date it is up by 5.1%. Following the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, Kuehne+Nagel has been included in the blue-chip index SMI with the extraordinary index adjustment on 13 June 2023.
