The list of the “30 most important people” in the Swiss structured products market has just been revealed within the “Schweizer Jahrbuch für Strukturierte Produkte 2023” by payoff. More than 600 industry professionals, asset managers and business journalists have voted for the 30 most important “structurers” in the industry. Among them are once again two representatives of SIX Swiss Exchange: André Buck (rank 3 as in 2022), Global Head Sales & Relationship Management, and Sébastien Neukom as “Rising Star of the Year” (rank 15 - previous year rank 20), Head Structured Products Sales. This is a significant recognition of their work and expertise, both from the industry and Swiss peers.

Firmly anchored in the industry

André has been Chairman of the Structured Products Commission since 2016 and also served as a jury member of the Swiss Derivative Awards from 2017 to 2020. His experience also took him to Hong Kong, where since 2018 he has been a Member of the Board of Directors of the international structured products company Contineo (see news on strategic partnership).

Sébastien Neukom has taken over from André Buck on the jury of the Swiss Derivative Awards in 2021 and has been an active member of the “Retail” working group at the Swiss Structured Products Association (SSPA) since 2019.

André Buck, Global Head Sales & Relationship Management, comments on the nominations: “It is an uplifting confirmation to be chosen by customers, industry representatives and journalists for our work. SIX Swiss Exchange has played an important role in developing and shaping the industry in recent years. Being honored again together with Sébastien Neukom further spurs us on to deliver the best service to our clients and pave the way for our customers to succeed.”

Sébastien Neukom, Head Structured Products Sales, adds: “In close and constructive cooperation with our customers, we have developed value-added service functionalities such as the Active Product Package (APP), which simplify and accelerate the management of the product portfolio. Making the big leap from 20th place to the top 15 industry experts fills me with pride and gratitude. It gives me additional motivation to continue driving the segment's further development together with the market participants”.

Christian Reuss, Head SIX Swiss Exchange

Close and constructive cooperation with our customers enables the constant further development of the segment and the associated services.

Sébastien Neukom, Head Structured Products Sales

In the current Yearbook 2023, in a personal interview, Sébastien Neukom (in German) delves into the new service functionality “Active Product Packages”, pointing out the advantages of listing on a regulated exchange and ventures an outlook on future market developments.

Another innovation last year was the redesign of the website for structured products. The optimized user-friendliness as well as the exciting investment ideas help investors to get an even better overview of the market, to optimize their portfolios and to trade more products.

Elected by Leading Representatives of the Structured Products Business

The top 30 “Structurers” are chosen by a predefined list of 600 voters from the structured products industry. This list is made up of leading representatives from the buy-side, i.e. professional investors, leading representatives from the sell-side, i.e. issuers, and financial journalists. Each of these voters can cast a maximum of 10 votes on who they believe to be among the most important minds in the structured products market in Switzerland.

Swiss-Made. World-Class.

In 2022, SIX Swiss Exchange continued to offer financial market participants innovative and value-added new services in the areas of reference data, connectivity and trading functionalities. SIX Swiss Exchange was recognized by customers, partners and the industry through various listing and trading awards, including “Exchange Group of the Year” at the FN Trading and Technology Awards.

The challenging year 2022 was marked by geopolitical and economic upheavals and had a corresponding impact on general trading activity in all securities on SIX Swiss Exchange. Nevertheless, with trading turnover of CHF 12.132 billion and 531.984 trades, a solid result was achieved, with some room for improvement in 2023. Thanks to the highest levels of transparency, efficiency and reliability, SIX Swiss Exchange offers a solid foundation for trading in structured products. As of the end of December, nearly 55,000 structured products and warrants were available to investors. For the latest figures, subscribe to our monthly market report.
