On SIX Swiss Exchange, trading turnover across all segments has increased by 3.3% compared to the previous month and reached CHF 120.6 billion in April. Since the start of the year, total turnover is up 29.4%, having reached CHF 432.2 billion. A total of 6,372,204 trades were executed in April, 21.5% more than in March. At month end, the blue chip index SMI stood at 12,117 points which is 3.8% lower than in March, resulting in a year-to-day performance of 4.5%.
On BME Exchange total trading turnover in April reached EUR 44.6 billion, an increase of 4.6% over March. The YTD total of 160.2 bn is 12.7% higher than in the previous year. Transactions were up 13.0% month-on-month, totalling 3,534,066. Meanwhile, the IBEX35 reached 13,288 points, up 1.2%; since the start of the year, the Spanish blue chip index is up 14.6%.
