In August 2026, overall turnover on SIX Swiss Exchange progressed by 16% YOY and reached over CHF 87 mn. With the exception of Fixed Income, all segments saw double-digit growth – most of all ETFs, up 72%. This growth goes hand in hand with a new record for QOD Europe where turnover almost doubled compared to the previous record month.

In Spain, all segments except Securitized Derivatives saw higher turnover than in August 2025. Fixed Income saw the biggest increase, with 33.2%. Overall, turnover on BME was up almost 29% to reach over EUR 41 bn. Combined, the two exchanges recorded a turnover of CHF 125.9 bn (+19.5% YOY) ear, and close to 7 million trades (+22.1%). 

The Swiss SMI remained at last month’s levels and finished the month at 14,286.4 points. The Spanish IBEX35 surpassed the 20,000 point threshold for the first time and even reached a new all-time high of 20,356.5 points on the 13th of August, before ending the month at 19,974 points. With regards to product listings, Structured Products continue their record path in Switzerland. With over 26,000 new products listed in August, the YTD total has now for the first time ever surpassed the mark of 200,000. Furthermore, SIX Swiss Exchange welcomed Allianz Global Investors as a new ETF issuer with four new products.
