In September, the combined turnover of SIX Swiss Exchange and BME Exchange was up by a third compared to August, reaching CHF 168.5 bn, while the number of transactions rose by 17.6% to over 8.1 mn. Over the course of the month, the SMI fell by 3.2% and the IBEX35 by 2.7%, resulting in year-to-date performances of 4.2% and 12.2% respectively.

SIX Swiss Exchange saw the biggest turnover increase in the equities segment, up almost 34% and reaching CHF 88.9 bn. This brought the total turnover close to CHF 112 bn, +28% compared to the previous month. BME also recorded a positive uptick in trading turnover in September. With EUR 59.9 bn, it was up over 45% compared to August. 

With regards to new clients, SIX Swiss Exchange welcomed two new ETF issuers: Pictet and HANSAINVEST. In Spain, BME Scaleup welcomed Eolo Toys as the 13th company to join BME's growth markets in 2026.
