The highest turnover on a single trading day was recorded on 28 May, which saw securities worth a total volume of CHF 10.2 billion changing hands. The highest number of trades was recorded on 9 May, with 269,348 transactions. The stock that generated the highest turnover during the reporting month was NESTLE N with CHF 9.1 bn. The most traded stock was NOVARTIS N with 249,115 transactions.

On 2 May, SIX reached a significant milestone in its ETF segment. With 1'500 listed ETFs, the Swiss stock exchange ranks among the top three ETF venues in Europe. It had launched the segment back in 2000 as one of the first exchanges in Europe.

In May, 29 products with crypto currencies as underlying were traded on the Swiss stock exchange, 5 more than in the previous month. Trading turnover rose by more than 150% to CHF 71.2 million, while the number of transactions doubled again over the previous month to reach a total of 2,608. The most traded product, ZXBTAV, with Bitcoin as underlying, recorded a turnover of CHF 34.6 million with 872 transactions. The world’s first collateralized bearer debt security on crypto currencies, HODL, recorded this month’s second highest turnover of CHF 8.7 mn with 439 transactions.
