The upward trend in the Swiss market for structured products can be measured in figures. In 2018, SIX counted once again more than 40'000 listed products – and a total of around 190'000 new listings were registered during the course of the year. In addition, the segment on the Swiss Stock Exchange welcomed two new issuers: Luzerner Kantonalbank and Bank Pictet & Cie.
The most important "structurers" in the industry
The Schweizer Jahrbuch für Strukturierte Produkte 2019 (in German) contains interviews, articles and a large selection of key figures and charts on market shares and rankings – plus a list of the 30 most important personalities in the Swiss structured products market. Around 200 industry representatives, asset managers and business journalists also voted for two SIX representatives: Christian Reuss, Head Sales and André Buck, Global Head Sales.
Milestones and outlook
Furthermore, the yearbook contains a comprehensive interview with André Buck where he explains the positive sales performance of structured products on the Swiss stock exchange, the numerous measures taken by SIX to enhance the attractiveness of this asset class, as well as the most important initiatives.
The "Oscar night of the derivatives industry"
The yearbook also provides a review of the Swiss Derivative Awards 2018, which were presented for the thirteenth time. In March 2018, more than 270 guests from Switzerland and abroad travelled to Zurich for the "Oscar night of the derivatives industry", which SIX has supported as main sponsor since its inception. The awards have been presented since their first ceremony.
