Starting with the fiscal year 2020, the Swiss tax authority (Swiss Federal Tax Administration, SFTA) no longer offers the residents of Germany the option to submit the Form 85 and is instead providing an online platform for this purpose. Institutions wishing to use this application require an authorization from applicants to represent them.

Alternatively, institutions can use an interface between SIX and the SFTA to securely send the relevant data – without any of the additional effort required to be authorized as a representative by applicants. SIX is offering this convenient solution as part of its Advanced Tax Reclaim Service without any investment costs being incurred on your part. You determine which transactions should be settled via SIX. In the future, you will also be able to rely on the innovative services from SIX should there be any regulatory or processing changes in the area of tax reclaims. Other investment markets, such as Austria, Denmark or the Netherlands, also require the data to be transmitted via web interfaces.

In an article recently published by The Wealth Mosaic, Christophe Lapaire – Head Product & Change Management – talks more about the Advanced Tax Reclaim Service and the benefits it can bring. Read more here.
