About the SPI Extra

The SPI EXTRA offers the opportunity to track the development of shares not included in the SMI®, which makes it the benchmark for these securities. It was launched on 29.04.2004 and is published in real time. The index was standardised at 1'000 points as of 31.12.1999. Like the SPI and the SMI, the SPI EXTRA is a free-float-adjusted index and calculated both as a performance index and as a price index.

After its launch, the SPI EXTRA has rapidly evolved into an indispensable benchmark for those portfolio managers who invest their clients’ funds in small and medium-sized companies.
