Startup ClimateTrade Facilitates the Financing of Projects That Reduce or Eliminate Greenhouse Gas Emissions

In the Elevator Pitch blog series, startup companies that SIX supports or advises introduce themselves. Today, you’ll get to know ClimateTrade. CEO and co-founder Francisco Benedito explains how he and his team approach the pressing problem of climate change.

What Does SIX Do for Startups?

In 2015, we founded the F10 FinTech Incubator & Accelerator, known today as the Tenity FinTech Incubator & Accelerator. We support startups through a strategic involvement in Tenity and as a corporate member. With SIX FinTech Ventures, we maintain our own funds for Corporate Venture Capital. In the Elevator Pitch blog series, startups that are either supported via SIX FinTech Ventures or that have participated in programs from Tenity introduce themselves.

Today’s pitch comes from Francisco Benedito, CEO and co-founder of ClimateTrade.

What Does ClimateTrade Do?

“At ClimateTrade we firmly believe that the integration of technology and sustainability is the key to ensuring a sustainable future for our planet. On our offsetting platform, the climate marketplace, private individuals and companies can directly offset their CO2 footprint by, for example, supporting reforestation, biodiversity, and initiatives for renewable energies. Thanks to blockchain technology, individuals and companies use our climate marketplace to buy emissions credits without intermediaries, and with full transparency. With our plug-and-play solutions such as APIs and Whitelabels, companies also have the opportunity to give their clients access to the functions of our marketplace in order to offer climate neutral products and services.”
