SGS Expands NRTL Scope and Adds an Accredited Lab in France to its Global Network

All Electrical and Electronic (EE) products used in the workplace must be tested and certified, to Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) safety specifications, by a NRTL before they can be sold on the US market.

John Ciliege, Global Head of NRTL, SGS, said: “We are proud that our state-of-the-art testing facilities and services across the globe have gained this additional recognition from OSHA and to have expanded our global network through a new NRTL in France. We’ve also extended our expertise in electric kitchen appliances and heaters with the addition of gas-fired product testing to our NRTL scope. At SGS, we are also one of the first to receive OSHA recognition for UL 2524 – the standard for In-building 2-way Emergency Radio Communication Enhancement Systems.”

SGS’s expanded scope now includes:

UL 22 Standard for Amusement and Gaming Machines
UL 430 Electric Waste Disposers
UL 466 Standard for Electric Scales
